By day, Deborah Kay is a Quality Assurance Analyst. When she’s not working on the BusPatrol mission to safeguard students as they ride to and from school each day, Deborah teaches yoga in her hometown of East Patchogue, New York.
Known as the Yogi Next Door, Deborah teaches her students, all of whom are from her neighborhood. On Saturdays, she teaches chair yoga to senior citizens in her community.
“It’s been remarkable. I teach asana (the physical practice of yoga) along with pranayama (breath work) and meditation. I feel very grateful and most fortunate for this opportunity – it truly brings me joy. I feel now, more than ever, everyone and everyBODY can benefit from the healing art of yoga.” – Deborah Kay
Deborah likes to refer to her work in her community as karma yoga – being of service to others.
